The Fortin Discovery Lab is unique in that it is staffed by Independent Product Developers ( IPD’s ) consisting of graduate engineers and technologists who are mentored by industry professionals. The lab is a modern prototyping facility equipped with CAD/CAM workstations, industrial 3D printers, CNC mold making and injection molding machines, electronics design stations and complimented by EMC compliance and environmental test capabilities. This unique configuration facilitates the full development cycle of certified products ready for sale anywhere in the world.

If you have an idea for a product and require design and prototyping services please select an IPD from the “Our IPD’s” page on this website and contact them directly.
The mandate of the Fortin Discovery Lab is to facilitate the development of products to be manufactured in Canada. If you are a graduate engineer/technologist with an idea and a desire to start your own company manufacturing in Canada we may be able to help. Through a resident agreement you may receive access to a modern design, prototyping and certification facility that will become your factory for the duration of the start-up phase of your venture.

If you are an engineer/technologist and would like to work independently in the lab to develop your own product please contact Lab Director Tom Fortin via email at tf@ontrak.net.
